Intermediate/Advanced Classes 12-2pm
12-1pm: Men's Footwork and Ladies Styling/Salsa Combinations & Partnering with Style
You will learn a flashy footwork or sexy ladies styling combo! David & Charlene will incorporate body movement, syncopations and level and facing changes to add pizazz and dynamic to your movement.

Then Charlene & David will lead you through a simple, yet flashy and stylized partnering combo that will stand out on the dance floor, and also be a lot of fun for both the Ladies and Guys! Focus will be placed on the following:

- Connection and details about the subtleties of leading (ie. twisting of wrists, points of compression during key moments of the move, etc).
- Hand placement
- Arm placement
- Styling within and coming out of spins
- Stylish moves to do in a Cross Body Lead
- Styling in open stance
- Styling in gentleman's closed lunge pose
- Head & shoulder styling
- Hip movement
- Leg styling using sweeps, scoops, and kicks for both
- Footwork during partnering
- Polishing movement

1-2pm: Bachata Partnering
Bachata is the latest craze, so you don't want to be left out in the cold when the next bachata song comes on! David & Charlene will teach you a sexy and innovative pattern that will turn heads and make you look like a million bucks!

Beginner Classes 2-4pm
2-3pm Bachata
Don't be that person sitting down every time a Bachata song comes on! David & Charlene will break down the Bachata basics and timing, and then teach you a simple, yet fun pattern to get you started.
3-4pm Salsa Basics & Combinations
Learn the basic steps and techniques you need to know to get your foot into the door and out on the dance floor!  ThenYou will learn a simple and fun patterns to get you started so you can get out on the floor!

Attire

Wear clothing that is comfortable to move in.  Wear comfortable shoes or dance sneakers, and bring a pair of dance heels as well. For Afro-Cuban you have the option of dancing with sneakers, socks, or barefoot. Don't forget to bring bottled water.

About Us

DAVID NIETO: Originally from Ecuador, is one of the most highly acclaimed salsa performers, instructors, choreographers representing the "On1" L.A. style. His achievements include being a featured dancer in multiple Hollywood films, delivering jaw-dropping performances throughout the United States, Europe and South America, placing in the top three at the 2007 World ESPN Salsa Competition and being the 2008 World Salsa Mayan CHAMPION, winning 1st place. CHARLENE ROSE:  Charlene Rose is among the likes of great talent in the salsa world. She has performed and given workshops internationally, and with some of the most world renowned Salseros including Rogelio Moreno, Alex da Silva, Alfonso Caldera, David Nieto, and Francisco Vazquez.

Charlene's first love as far as dancing goes was ballet, in which she began her training at about 8 years old. At 18, she decided to continue pursuing her passion at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA where she majored in dance and musical theater. It was during her tenure at Cornish that Charlene was exposed to the Latindances, and she fell in love instantly.

Charlene was inspired to take her salsa career to the next level when she realized the height to which salsa could be taken, after seeing videos online of the Mayan Salsa Competition, and also the West Coast Salsa Congress.

Some of her accomplishments in salsa include:

- First Place 2009 Top L.A. Salsera Competition
- First Place 2008 Mayan World Salsa Championships
- 3rd Place 2007 ESPN World Salsa Championships On 1
- Appeared on FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance", and was featured in US Weekly, OK Weekly, and Variety Magazines for her participation on the show.
- Appeared on NBC's "America's Got Talent"

Charlene now resides in Los Angeles, CA where she continues to pursue her passion for danceand performing, Charlene has added to her credits a sizable list of films, television programs, music videos, commercials, modeling campaigns, and theater productions.

Charlene continues to perform, choreograph, and instruct for audiences and students around the world. She also founded and directs her own performance group in Los Angeles, Charlene Rose DanceCompany, which provides performance opportunities and danceskills to salsa afficionados from the Amateur to Professional level. The Company provides dancers who have never trained or performed with the opportunity to be part of a company, work with professionals, travel, compete, and be part of a truely unique experience.
